Mandela-Effect Wiki

I see

I See White People is a Mandela Effect example that takes place in the 2000 horror comedy Scary Movie. In one scene Shorty states "I see dead people" after getting high, a reference to the horror movie The Sixth Sense, released the previous year. However, many clearly remember him saying "I see white people" instead, which would be a racial joke. The effect is said to have caused upset as it has destroyed the humor of the scene.

History - Where did this effect originate?[]

Approximately three to five years after revisiting the movie, many stated that the line, which they clearly remembered as "I see white people", changed to "I see dead people". Some said that the line only appeared in trailer, but no trailer using the phrase has ever been found. Some believe that the scene would not make sense without the 'white people' line.

Possible explanation[]

The line "I see white people" is said by a black character in the 2002 action comedy movie Undercover Brother (see here). One's mind can possibly mix up both movies when remembering their scenes.
